Cardiac Surgery

Cardiology patients suffering from bradyarrythmias (slow heart rhythm), congestive heart failure or other heart conditions may require a pacemaker. A pacemaker is a small device that stimulates a normal heart rhythm by sending electrical impulses to the heart. Working closely with your cardiologist, our surgical care team can perform expert pacemaker implants and battery changes in a comfortable setting that’s close to home.

Pacemaker Implants
Pacemaker implants are a minor surgery in which a small incision is made in the skin of the chest. The pacemaker is then implanted just under the skin. Is this performed through our Ambulatory Care Unit.

Pacemaker Battery Changes
The frequency with which pacemaker batteries must be changed can vary widely, but is typically every 5 to 10 years. Our surgical team can perform this minor procedure through our Ambulatory Care Unit.

Billing & Payment Information

Please note that billing for surgical procedures will be submitted to your insurance carrier by more than one party; the physician’s practice for surgical services, Day Kimball Hospital for facility services and North American Partners for Anesthesia (NAPA) for anesthesiology services (if applicable). Please check with your insurance carrier for details about your specific coverage, copays, deductibles and any prior authorization requirements.
